How we work
Editorial policy.
Our standards for useful buying research, clear evidence labels, and honest explanations of trade-offs.
Start with the reader’s decision
We identify the practical need and the constraints that can change a recommendation: available space, number of users, compatibility, care, support, and ownership costs.
A guide should help a reader decide what to verify, not simply repeat marketing claims.
Distinguish evidence from claims
Specifications and manufacturer statements should be identified as such. Runtime, performance, and compatibility claims need their conditions and limitations explained where relevant.
Direct testing, documented research, and manufacturer claims are different forms of evidence. Our launch content uses documented research and is labelled accordingly.
Explain trade-offs and uncertainty
We describe who an option may suit and where it can fall short. We avoid universal ‘best’ claims when needs and circumstances differ.
Where a detail cannot be verified, readers should be told to check the current manual, seller information, or manufacturer support before buying.
Review dates and corrections
Article dates indicate the stated publication or review date, not a guarantee that every market detail remains current. Product specifications, warranties, and support arrangements can change.
We review credible correction requests and update material errors. Readers can contact the editorial address listed on our contact page.
